The long-awaited Summer Holidays are nearly here! All parents want the best experience possible for their kids. As educators, linguists, and parents ourselves, we at Spell Languages have built a Summer Camp Program that brings everything a kid could want. Central to Geneva, we offer camps in English and French, including immersive and fun adventures, carefully selected themes, passionate and creative teachers, daily outings to local sites, games in the park, arts and crafts activities, songs, stories, and much more!
Week 4 Weekly Theme: Magic of Science
What if planet Earth is actually the most magical place in the universe and we can prove it? Throughout the week from July 20th to July 24th campers will learn that Earth’s wonders are not tricks, but natural science at work. From making “erupting” volcanoes and exploring space and planets, to discovering how our senses work and how nature changes all around us, each day feels like a new adventure where science quietly explains the “magic” they see. By the end of the week, your kids will begin to see Earth not just as a home, but as a living, changing planet full of real-world wonder waiting to be explored and real magic they can understand and explain.
Immersive Language Play
Jumping from one discovery to the next, children will uncover the wonders of our world in a new language through hands-on experiments, movement, building, and imagination, while naturally building vocabulary to describe what they see, do, and discover.
Daily Activities
Throughout the week, campers will take part in science missions and experiments inspired by space, Earth, more, such as...
- play a game of big bang tag: run and “expand” like the universe, spreading out as the game begins;
- create a simple volcanic reaction and watch it bubble and overflow;
- build your own wonder of the world using wooden blocks;
- follow a smell-based obstacle course using only your nose as a guide.
Daily Crafts
Campers will explore science through hands-on activities and experiments including…
- create frames with natural materials like leaves and sticks;
- create colorful sun-catchers using coloure00000d cellophane paper;
- build layered 3d mountains using paper, glue, and paint;
- design constellations using glow in the dark paint;
- create hidden hand-prints that magically appear using simple painting techniques.
Daily Outings
Each day, kids will head outdoors to experience science in action through exciting visits such as a full-day adventure at CERN, a trip to the Musée des Sciences, and an exploration of the Jardin Botanique and more!
