The long-awaited Summer Holidays are nearly here! All parents want the best experience possible for their kids. As educators, linguists, and parents ourselves, we at Spell Languages have built a Summer Camp Program that brings everything a kid could want. Central to Geneva, we offer camps in English, French, and German, including immersive and fun adventures, carefully selected themes, passionate and creative teachers, daily outings to local sites, games in the park, arts and crafts activities, songs, stories, and much more!
Week 3 Weekly Theme: Team Sports
Some of the most joyful moments in early sport come when children discover that movement can take many different forms, each one offering a new way to play, explore, and grow. From July 13th to July 17th, campers will participate in the Spell Olympics and be introduced each day to a different category of sport. Along the way, they will discover that everyone has different strengths and that every activity offers its own chance to succeed, experiencing how sport brings people together through shared energy, laughter, and achievement. By the end of the week, they will see themselves not just as players, but as part of a joyful team.
Immersive Language Play
From running and jumping to throwing, balancing, and simple team games, campers will discover and practice a new language in a fun, active, and supportive environment. Through movement and play, they will naturally build vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, and gain confidence using language in everyday situations.
Daily Activities
Throughout the week, campers will engage in a range of sports and movement-based activities that encourage skill-building and teamwork, such as...
- play a baseball game using soft pool noodles as bats;
- participate in a volleyball match trying to keep the balloon in the air over a net;
- frisbee golf: throw frisbees at hoops and try to land in the fewest throws possible;
- race to the finish line while running backwards in a funny speed challenge.
Daily Crafts
Because sports are about more than just movement, campers will also explore their creativity through hands-on projects including...
- recreate the Olympic rings using finger paint;
- decorate and design your own shiny champion trophy to celebrate victory;
- make your own rackets with paper plates and play a mini tennis rally with balloons or soft balls;
- decorate three small boxes to create your podium.
Daily Outings
Outings this week will take campers outdoors for a full-day adventure at the Musée Olympique in Lausanne, as well as visits to Parc Gustave & Léonard Hentsch, and the Centre Sportif Bout du Monde to try different sports and take part in their own mini-Olympic competition.
