The long-awaited Summer Holidays are nearly here! All parents want the best experience possible for their kids. As educators, linguists, and parents ourselves, we at Spell Languages have built a Summer Camp Program that brings everything a kid could want. Central to Geneva, we offer camps in English, French, and German, including immersive and fun adventures, carefully selected themes, passionate and creative teachers, daily outings to local sites, games in the park, arts and crafts activities, songs, stories, and much more!
Week 3 Weekly Theme: Champions in Motion
What if the Olympic rings were not just a symbol, but a map for an adventure around the world? During the week from July 13th to July 17th, campers will travel across the five continents represented in the Olympic rings, discovering how movement and games connect children from different cultures. Each day, they will travel to a new continent and take part in activities influenced by its styles of play, from fast-paced team games to balance challenges and cooperative relays. Along the way, they will build teamwork, curiosity, and respect for different ways of playing, discovering that the Olympic spirit is about unity, diversity, and celebrating sport across the globe.
Immersive Language Play
Campers will learn language in a playful, active way as they explore the five continents through sport-inspired games. They will pick up new vocabulary linked to movement, teamwork, and cultures from around the world.
Daily Activities
Throughout the week, campers will engage in a range of sports and movement-based activities that encourage skill-building and teamwork, such as...
- pass the Olympic flame in a fast team relay celebrating unity and teamwork;
- invent your own sport, create the rules, and bring it to life with your team;
- play a fast-paced 4-goals football game;
- team up, tie together, and race while working in perfect sync.
Daily Crafts
Because sports are about more than just movement, campers will also explore their creativity through hands-on projects including...
- recreate a champion’s laurel wreath inspired by ancient Olympic winners;
- build and decorate a model of an Olympic stadium;
- shape and design unique medals using clay;
- fold your own mini football jersey and customize it with colors, numbers, and your dream team name.
Daily Outings
Outings this week will take campers outdoors for a full-day adventure at the Musée Olympique in Lausanne, as well as visits to Parc Gustave & Léonard Hentsch, and the Centre Sportif Bout du Monde to try different sports and take part in their own mini Olympic competition.
