Summer Camp Week 2 - Improbable Friendships - 7-11 years olds (06.07-10.07)

The long-awaited Summer Holidays are nearly here! All parents want the best experience possible for their kids. As educators, linguists, and parents ourselves, we at Spell Languages have built a Summer Camp Program that brings everything a kid could want. Central to Geneva, we offer camps in English, French, and German, including immersive and fun adventures, carefully selected themes, passionate and creative teachers, daily outings to local sites, games in the park, arts and crafts activities, songs, stories, and much more!

Week 2 Weekly Theme: Improbable Friendships

Some of the most meaningful friendships begin in the most unexpected ways. From July 6th to July 10th, campers will discover that strong connections are often built between people who think differently, come from different backgrounds, or have different strengths. Through shared experiences, they will learn that friendship is not about being the same, but about how differences can complement each other, creating opportunities to support, understand, and grow together. Along the way, they will explore how trust, empathy, encouragement, and curiosity can turn strangers into teammates, and teammates into friends.

Immersive Language Play

Campers will learn language in a playful and collaborative way through team-based games, shared challenges, and interactive missions where communication is key. They will practice expressing ideas, listening to others, and working together to solve tasks, all while naturally building confidence in using new vocabulary.

Daily Activities

During this week-long experience, your kids will set off on an imaginative journey to Friendship Island, a magical place where every corner of the island hides an important lesson about friendship. Here are a few examples:

  • play kindness bingo, completing acts of kindness to discover and celebrate friendly behaviors;
  • explore the power of imaginary friends through The Imaginary Fred by Oliver Jeffers;
  • record a friendship podcast;
  • share and teach a personal skill or talent with a friend, discovering new abilities and appreciating differences.

Daily Crafts

Because expressing yourself goes beyond language, an important part of daily activities is crafts! Your children will, among other things...

  • create and exchange friendship bracelets;
  • design an identity collage showing personal interests, strengths, and values to share with the group;
  • write a letter to a friend, sharing thoughts, appreciation, or memories to celebrate your friendship;
  • make a graphic story about an improbable friend, illustrating a friendship that grows in an unexpected way.

Daily Outings

At least once a day, including one weekly full day, your little adventurers will be outside enjoying the sun! This week, outings will include Signal de Bougy, Arve Beach, and more!

Camps at Spell Languages also include...

  • Free childcare from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. outside the camp hours;
  • Discounts available for registrations of 2 weeks or more;
  • Sibling discounts that can be combined with discounts on multi-week registrations;
  • Option to order a 3 course lunch (starter, main course, dessert);
  • Half-day or full-day registration available;
  • One full-day outing per camp.
