Summer Camp Week 5 - My Art Exhibition - 7-11 years old (27.07-31.07)

The long-awaited Summer Holidays are nearly here! All parents want the best experience possible for their kids. As educators, linguists, and parents ourselves, we at Spell Languages have built a Summer Camp Program that brings everything a kid could want. Central to Geneva, we offer camps in English, French, and German, including immersive and fun adventures, carefully selected themes, passionate and creative teachers, daily outings to local sites, games in the park, arts and crafts activities, songs, stories, and much more!

Week 5 Weekly Theme: My Art Exhibition

What happens inside a museum after the lights go out? From July 27th to July 31st, campers will step into an unforgettable adventure inspired by a living art exhibition where history, art, science, and imagination collide. Something strange is happening inside the museums of Geneva: exhibits are shifting, paintings are changing their stories, and ancient artifacts seem to hide coded messages. As they follow clues through art, history, science, and imagination, they will work together to solve the mystery before time runs out. Along the way, they will discover how every object in a museum holds a story waiting to be uncovered, and how the past connects to the present in surprising ways.

Immersive Language Play

Campers will use language as a tool of investigation, decoding clues and describing what they see as they explore art, objects, and hidden messages throughout the museum mystery.

Daily Activities

Throughout the week, campers will take part in creative, hands-on art experiences that explore imagination and expression including...

  • museum mystery scavenger hunt;
  • transform into living artworks using body poses, facial expressions, costumes, and face paint to recreate famous museum paintings that come to life after dark;
  • curator challenge: race to correctly match artifacts, paintings, and clues to the right museum gallery;
  • navigate through a maze of “laser beams” to escape the museum.

Daily Crafts

Children will bring their ideas to life through artistic projects that encourage experimentation with color, texture, movement, and storytelling, including...

  • trace layered images using tracing paper and overlays to build depth and composition;
  • build and sculpt your own totem using clay;
  • paint glow-in-the-dark artworks that reveal hidden symbols and clues;
  • design immersive sound and light installations combining visuals, sound effects, and lighting.

Daily Outings

Each day, campers will bring creativity outside the classroom and into the city, experiencing art across Geneva through inspiring visits such as a full-day at the Musée Cantonal des Beaux-Arts, the Centre d’Art Contemporain de Genève, the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, and more!
